What Sangenjaya Engraving Studio, established in 1970, would like to tell you 10-20 years from now
Resizing is a sign of "attachment
It has been 10 or 20 years since I got my wedding ring. It is not uncommon for finger size to change as life progresses. Finger size really varies from person to person, with some people getting bigger as they age and others getting smaller. Some people's finger size may change even if their weight does not change, while others may change their finger size due to changes in their body shape, such as pregnancy or childbirth.
At MITUBACI TOKYO in Sangenjaya, we recently had a customer who had a ring made 12 years ago come in to have it resized from a size 5.5 to a size 7.5. We consider re-sizing not only as a simple repair, but also as a happy time when we can see our customers again.
However, it is also true that resizing has physical limitations and risks. To avoid a lifetime of regret, we will honestly convey the "truth about resizing" from a craftsman's point of view.
MITUBACI Promise: "First-time free support" with no expiration date
We stand behind our "first-time free resizing" lifetime guarantee for rings made in our own workshop.
- Deadline: Whether it is one year later, ten years later, or twenty years later, the first time is free.
- background: Since our establishment in 1970, we have been forging rings on the premise of a "lifetime relationship". It is our hope that you will continue to use your precious rings for a long time and return to our workshop in Sangenjaya anytime.
MITUBACI's readiness to say "no deadline

In many cases, general jewelry stores and brands delimit the free resizing period to "six months" or "one year" after purchase. However, there is no time limit for MITUBACI.
- Why not set a deadline? We believe that a ring is not a product that is "sold" and then finished, but rather a "lifelong partner" that will walk with the couple for the rest of their lives. 10 or 20 years from now, it is natural for a person's body shape and finger shape to change. We want our customers to continue to use our products for a long time, and that is why we do not set an expiration date on our products.
If you have lost your warranty card ......, don't worry!

If you want to get maintenance but don't know where to find a warranty card that is more than 10 years old, don't worry.
- The ring itself is the "certificate": Inside each ring made by MITUBACI is engraved with the MITUBACI logo, which we are very proud of. This engraving is the proof that we have responsibly created this product.
- Trust connected by data: Even in the unlikely event that you do not have a warranty card, we can trace back almost all of the production records (records) from that time by using your name and e-mail address. Please feel free to contact us at any time with a sense of security that "the record of when you made the product is still there.
Craftsman teaches "Limitations and Risks of Resizing
The second and subsequent times will be paid for, but there are "physical limitations" that you should know about here.
- Risk of significant change above No. 3: When increasing the size by 3 or more, basically a portion of the ring is cut off and the same material is spliced in and "brazed" (welded) together. Especially if a significant change of size 3 or larger has been made in the past, there is a risk that the welded part will be obscured during the next repair and the ring will collapse when heat is applied.
- Craftsman's true intentions: We do not want to break your precious rings. Therefore, if we determine that the ring is structurally unsafe, we will either refuse to perform an impossible repair or accept the order with full understanding of the risks involved.
- The "New Replacement" Option: If we determine that the strength of the product cannot be maintained, we can offer a separate estimate for a "new replacement". This is a sincere decision to protect the feelings that have been put into the product, even if it is in a different form.
Don't put up with "stuck" or "loose"
It's a little tight, but it's still okay," or "It's loose, but you just have to be careful." ...... That patience can lead to unexpected problems.
- Risk of loss: Loose rings are very likely to slip out when you wash your hands or in the wintertime and be lost. If you lose it, there is no way to get it back.
- Emergency disconnection handling: If the finger is congested and cannot be pulled out, straining will affect the body. It is possible to have it amputated at a fire station, but if possiblePlease bring them to our workshop. If we cut with our specialized tools, the subsequent restoration will be by far the smoothest and cleanest. However, if there is pain or congestion, please do not hesitate to consider taking action (amputation) as a top priority. Your health comes first.
Rebirth of Brilliance" and "Family Stories" that can be fulfilled during the resizing process

When you drop off your watch for resizing, we also offer the following services at the same time
- New finish (free of charge): We will polish minor scratches from years of use and recreate the original "glossy" or "matte (matte finish)" texture of the original purchase free of charge. We deliver that sparkle that impressed you when you first saw the ring to all of our customers.
- Additional narrative (paid): Diamonds or birthstones can be added to the outside of the ring at the time of resizing. Some customers have asked for a diamond to be added to the outside of the ring, which they declined to do when the ring was first made, while others want to change the atmosphere of the ring by adding an ice blue diamond in a cute flower clasp style.
- The birthstone of a new family:It is possible to add a "secret stone" to the inside of the ring. As you use the ring over time, you may welcome a new family member. You can add this joy to the ring as a token of your joy.
- Wedding anniversary diamonds:How about adding a diamond as a 10th or 20th anniversary gift? A ring is not an end in itself; it is an item that can be updated along with your family history. We are here to help. Between us, we think the option of adding diamonds is quite ideal as a gift amount, neither expensive nor inexpensive. The nice thing is that the amount can be adjusted by the number of diamonds.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I ask you to resize a ring that was made at another store?
A: We are sorry, but in order to guarantee the quality of our "in-house forged rings," we only offer maintenance services for rings made at MITUBACI. Our sister store Fujimori Tokyo also offers resizing services for rings made by other stores, so please contact them for more information.
Q: I would like to stop by while sightseeing in Tokyo. Do I need to make an appointment for cleaning or resizing?
A: Yes, we can provide a free consultation. We recommend that you make an appointment in advance so that our craftsmen can diagnose your problem in person. We are a one-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station, so you can stop by smoothly between trips.
Q: How long does it take for cleaning (refinishing/refinishing)?
A: Finishing and re-finishing without resizing takes about 15 minutes per piece (about 30 minutes for a pair). We will finish them to a shiny or moist matte finish.
Q: How long does it take to resize?
A: Basically, we can deliver it on the same day, 2〜3 hours. While the couple is enjoying lunch at Sancha, we will make it shiny and new. We will take rings with diamonds or secret stones fastened, rings that are milled, or rings with laser engraving, etc. back to you for repair.
Q: Do you accept resizing by delivery?
A: Yes, we accept it. Since many of our customers live far away or overseas, we will faithfully handle correspondence by mail. For those in Japan, we also provide a ring gauge (a tool to measure the size) for loan, so please feel free to contact us.
