Engagement Ring Making Class

Pt95018K Gold
Diamond included ¥187,000

MITUBACI TOKYO is a modern rustic space that enables you to make your own engagement ring. The base price of the handmade engagement ring workshop covers the materials of the ring, including one center diamond. Customers may also consider crafting their wedding bands concurrently!

MITUBACI takes pride in our jewelry-crafting quality and methods and ensures that wedding jewelry forged with us can last for a lifetime.

HANDMADE ENGAGEMENT RING PROCESSES

Time required: 3 to 4 hours

You may take your rings home on the very same day!

Under the guidance of our craftsmen, you will create your own engagement ring. You may make the ring alone or you may come to the store together to work on it. The engagement ring can be made in platinum or K18 gold (18k gold) with engraving, shaping, welding, surface treatment, and diamond setting, all in about 4 hours. Diamonds are included in the base price. The completed engagement ring can be taken home the same day.

Choosing Materials, Widths, and Design

Starting with design consultation, we will walk you through our samples and guide you in choosing your preferred material, ring width, designs, and finishes for your rings.

You can also see and confirm the size and color of the actual diamonds and colored gemstones from our extensive stock.

Engraving

You may opt for free engraving methods like metal stamping which comprises alphabets, numerals, and original icons. Before working on your actual ring, we will provide you with a silver bar to practice engraving.

If you prefer a more flexible design, such as an illustration or Chinese characters, you can choose the optional laser engraving.

Shaping

The precious metal plate is made into a ring shape. Since this work requires a lot of strength, a wooden mallet is also used to round it.

Soldering

After rounding, you will solder your ring under the guidance of our craftsman. Our artisans will solder all platinum rings as they require a license to operate the burner.

* If you choose Platinum 950, the work will be performed by a craftsman in principle, as it requires the qualification of a gas welding technician.

Sanding & Polishing

At this stage, you will work with several tools to smoothen and polish the surfaces of your ring. Here the ring shines so beautifully that it reflects the surrounding scenery.

Also, lathing and milling can reproduce the superb quality of a custom-made engagement ring, despite the fact that it is handmade.

Stone Setting

Our craftsman welds the base to the ring and clasps the stone.

Because of the high level of skill required, the work usually needs to be done by a specialized company, but MITUBACI TOKYO, where real metal engravers are always on hand, can carry out the work on the same day and deliver the final product to you.

Put it in a case and you are done!

Your one-of-a-kind engagement ring is now complete.
Rings can be taken home immediately.

Learn by Video

We have compiled the entire engagement ring making process into a 2-minute short film, which we invite you to view.

In addition to the above processes, the engagement rings in the video are turned, milled, and laser engraved to achieve a professional finish as close as possible.

A Romantic Surprise at MITUBACI TOKYO

Some of our customers have invited their partner to MITUBACI TOKYO under the pretext of “let’s create a pair of jewelry together,” only to surprise them with a dazzling diamond engagement ring—creating a truly unforgettable moment.

We have created a short film inspired by a romantic marriage proposal successfully carried out by one of our real customers.

If you are planning a romantic proposal at the MITUBACI TOKYO workshop, we would be more than happy to assist!

WORKSHOP PRICING

The price for DIY engagement ring workshop is determined by the size of diamond (carat), width, and add-ons. You can enjoy engraving by yourself at no additional fees!

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

The one and only handmade engagement ring for the one you love

In MITUBACI TOKYO's engagement ring making class, you will handcraft the ring portion of the ring. You can choose either platinum or colored gold as the material; MITUBACI TOKYO's most popular material is platinum, while the popular colored gold is our original champagne gold. A diamond will be set by our craftsmen on the spot on the ring you have made.

Like the image above, you may also wish to opt for senban finishes for a more refined and professional look.

MITUBACI TOKYO engagement rings can also be completed on the same day. This is great for those who require the ring urgently. The ring contour is simple and straight, making it perfect to stack with your wedding rings. It is also possible to make your wedding bands concurrently with your engagement ring.

PREMIUM QUALITY DIAMONDS

Diamonds are evaluated using an international standard known as the 4Cs: Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut—each representing a key aspect of the diamond’s quality.
MITUBACI TOKYO uses natural diamonds of the same high grade as those found in custom-made jewelry. For diamonds ranging from 0.1ct to 0.3ct, we provide stones that are F color or higher, SI-1 clarity or higher, and Triple Excellent cut or better.
For diamonds 0.5ct and above, you can choose the grade based on your budget. A certificate of authenticity is included as proof of quality.

A carat is a unit of weight of a diamond; one carat is 0.2 grams.

Diamonds are classified between D (colorless) and Z (light yellow); MITUBACI TOKYO offers diamonds with F color or higher, which is classified as "colorless".

Clarity is an evaluation of a diamond's transparency. It is broadly divided into six categories. In descending order of evaluation, they are FL, IF, VVS, VS, SI, and I. They are further divided within each category, comprising a total of 11 grades.

The GIA Diamond Clarity Scale has six categories, some of which are subdivided, totaling to 11 grades.

MITUBACI TOKYO offers diamonds that are SI-1 (inclusions can be seen under 10x magnification) or higher.

Cut is an evaluation of a diamond's balance, symmetry, and polish. While color and clarity are the innate properties of a diamond, cut is an evaluation of the workmanship. The cut is divided into five grades: Excellent, the highest grade available at MITUBACI TOKYO, and Triple Excellent, the highest grade for overall evaluation, symmetry, and polish.

  • Diamonds of 0.2 ct. or more come with a certificate of authenticity booklet from the CGI. While diamonds of 0.1 ct. do not come with a certificate of authenticity booklet, a simple certificate of authenticity is available upon request.
  • While workshop participants can complete most of the ring-making process by themselves, our artisans will take over the stone setting process as it is more complicated.
  • All diamonds provided are natural diamonds.

TEXTURES & FINISHES

Plain / Textured Finish

In addition to the standard plain finish, you can choose for free the popular hammer finish that brings out the craft aesthetic.

Plain

+¥0
A timeless classic. The mirrored finish may look simple, but a lot of work goes into achieving a beautifully polished look! The sense of satisfaction lies in watching your jewelry shine after repeated sanding and buffing. The color of the gold is emphasized when matted.

Hammered

+¥0
Akin to shimmering water surfaces, this texture is created with a round-tipped hammer. Every piece of jewelry has a unique pattern as it is formed depending on how one wields the hammer. A matted hammered surface gives it a subtler appearance (this is also the most popular texture!)

Foresta

+¥0
Reminding one of the forests and trees, foresta texture is achieved using a hammer with a flat tip. A wider ring gives a closer resemblance to the tree trunk. Polished or matte, this texture is perfect for those who want a nature theme wedding band.

Snowflake

+¥0
Resembling a snow flurry, this texture is impeccable in platinum but also looks glamorous in gold. Polish your ring for an emphasized look or mattify for a gentle glow.

Frost

+¥0
Like frost forming on a winter window, this texture is created using a specially crafted hammer. Each ring is truly one-of-a-kind, as the pattern naturally varies with the hand of the maker. Choose a polished finish to highlight the texture, or opt for a matte surface for a softer, more subtle effect.

Stella

+¥0
“Stella” means “star” in Italian, and true to its name, this texture evokes the enchanting shimmer of a starlit sky. Pair it with gemstones of your choice to create a truly personalized and radiant design.

With its timeless design and flawless finish, this wedding band beautifully showcases the precision and artistry of our master craftsmen.

Shape

Alps

+¥5,500
By carefully carving both sides of the ring, a raised center ridge is created, giving the surface a sharp, mountain-inspired profile reminiscent of the Alps. The precisely symmetrical finish creates a clean, structured look, making this ring an elegant choice with a refined and sophisticated appearance.
