We often receive questions such as, “Is English support available?” or “Can I bring a friend from overseas? Will the workshop be explained in English?”

If you’re visiting Tokyo from abroad or coming with someone who isn’t yet comfortable speaking Japanese, you may be wondering whether you’ll be able to fully enjoy the ring-making experience.

There’s no need to worry. MITUBACI TOKYO has multiple staff members and artisans who can assist in English, providing support throughout your jewelry-making workshop—from the initial instructions to the finishing touches.

3 Native English-Speaking Staff

We currently have three native English-speaking staff members: two from the United States and one from Singapore.

Meet Our Native English-Speaking Staff

Emma — From Singapore

Emma studied art and English literature in Singapore. In addition to English and Japanese, she also speaks Chinese. She also knows plenty of great vegan restaurants in Tokyo, so feel free to ask her for recommendations!

Lauren — From the United States

After studying art in California, Lauren worked in customer service in Japan. She is currently training as an apprentice artisan at MITUBACI. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding and staying active.

Kaori Rachael — From the United States

After studying art in the United States, Kaori is now training every day to become a jewelry artisan. On her days off, she enjoys exploring Tokyo and visiting cafés around the city.

In addition to our native English-speaking staff, three members of our team can communicate comfortably in everyday English. They are happy to answer detailed questions and accommodate specific requests with care.

Our Artisans Guide You in Practical, Workshop-Based English

The artisans at MITUBACI TOKYO also explain the jewelry-making process and tools in English during workshops. Their English skills have naturally developed through hands-on experience working with many international customers every day.

From explaining how to use a hammer to create textures on your ring to discussing engraving on the inside of your ring, our artisans explain even the more technical steps in clear, easy-to-understand English. You can enjoy communicating in English while working at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our artisans also regularly participate in special events at our sister store, KOBO, in Singapore. Having led workshops while communicating directly with local staff and customers, they are experienced in providing friendly, flexible support tailored to the preferences and atmosphere of international customers.

Menus and Order Sheets Available in Both English and Japanese

In addition to providing support in both English and Japanese, we also offer bilingual menus for choosing your ring design and materials, as well as order sheets for recording your preferences and guides explaining each step of the ring-making process.

You can take your time choosing your design and specifications while referring to the materials in front of you—even when it comes to technical terms and more complex options.
