Tanzō forging—the forging method applied throughout this workshop—ensures the durability of your wedding jewelry to last a lifetime. Moreover, you get to experience hand engraving on your rings for free! With the support of artisans who specialize in made-to-order jewelry, please be assured that you are in good hands.
Time required: 3 to 4 hours
You may take your rings home on the very same day!
Check out our short video that walks you through the start-to-end experience at MITUBACI in just 2.5 minutes!
Starting with design consultation, we will walk you through our samples and guide you in choosing your preferred material, ring width, designs, and finishes for your rings.
You may opt for free engraving methods like metal stamping which comprises alphabets, numerals, and original icons. Before working on your actual ring, we will provide you with a silver bar to practice engraving.
Once engraving is completed, you will start shaping the metal bar into a ring. This process requires strength and support, hence you and your partner may need to help each other out.
After rounding, you will solder your ring under the guidance of our craftsman. Our artisans will solder all platinum rings as they require a license to operate the burner.
Depending on the design of your ring, texturing or lathe machine-cutting will come next. If you chose a plain finish, polishing will be done at this stage.
At this stage, you will work with several tools to smoothen and polish the surfaces of your ring.
Your ring is completed! If you wish to set a diamond or birthstone on your ring, our artisans will work on them at the end, and you can take them home on the same day!

Personalize your handmade wedding bands with textures! Our most popular texture is the hammered texture. While the mirror finish is the long-time classic, textured finishes are preferred for they evoke a sense of craftsmanship and individuality.
A timeless classic. The mirrored finish may look simple, but a lot of work goes into achieving a beautifully polished look! The sense of satisfaction lies in watching your jewelry shine after repeated sanding and buffing. The color of the gold is emphasized when matted.
Akin to shimmering water surfaces, this texture is created with a round-tipped hammer. Every piece of jewelry has a unique pattern as it is formed depending on how one wields the hammer. A matted hammered surface gives it a subtler appearance (this is also the most popular texture!)
Reminding one of the forests and trees, foresta texture is achieved using a hammer with a flat tip. A wider ring gives a closer resemblance to the tree trunk. Polished or matte, this texture is perfect for those who want a nature theme wedding band.
Resembling a snow flurry, this texture is impeccable in platinum but also looks glamorous in gold. Polish your ring for an emphasized look or mattify for a gentle glow.
Like frost forming on a winter window, this texture is created using a specially crafted hammer. Each ring is truly one-of-a-kind, as the pattern naturally varies with the hand of the maker. Choose a polished finish to highlight the texture, or opt for a matte surface for a softer, more subtle effect.
“Stella” means “star” in Italian, and true to its name, this texture evokes the enchanting shimmer of a starlit sky. Pair it with gemstones of your choice to create a truly personalized and radiant design.
You can add textures not only to the surface of your ring, but also to the sides! Side textures add extra detail and charm to your jewelry, allowing you to appreciate your craftsmanship from every angle. (Side textures are complimentary.)
Opt for the lathe machine finish and leave the refined finishing touches to our veteran artisans! (Add-on)
Just like other workshop menu at MITUBACI TOKYO, customers may engrave their names and initials, special dates, or even messages at no additional cost. Customers can choose between hand engraving with metal stamps for an enhanced handmade vibe or an authentic engraving machine for a neater result.
Alternatively, you may opt for laser engraving to include Japanese, Chinese, emojis, or handwritten characters on your jewelry (additional charges will incur).
Even with stone-setting or laser engraving!
At MITUBACI TOKYO, all handmade jewelry can be taken home on the same day of your visit.

Our same-day completion and collection services emphasise on convenience and cater to those with a tight schedule.

Yes, most of our customers who visit our store are making rings for the first time, but rest assured that our professional metal engravers will carefully assist you and help you with any difficult parts. We will measure the ring size on the day of your visit to ensure that it fits your finger perfectly. For hand engraving, we will explain and practice how to engrave before the actual engraving. The forging process produces a ring that is stronger, less fragile, and of higher quality than the lost wax process. We also offer Senban Finishes, where our craftsmen use a lathe to shape the ring.

Senban finishes are created through precision machining using a lathe, resulting in clean, refined patterns. During the workshop, participants will engage in essential jewelry-making processes such as engraving and shaping the ring. Final finishing is meticulously handled by our experienced artisans, ensuring a level of quality comparable to that of a fully custom-made ring. This option is ideal for those who wish to create their own jewelry while achieving an exceptional, flawless finish. Softly contoured edges, carefully shaved to form a smooth, rounded silhouette. The subtle oval profile offers a timeless elegance and a gentle aesthetic. With its refined simplicity and comfortable fit, it remains the most popular choice among senban finishes.
