For us at MITUBACI, the process of "receiving an order from a customer and creating a ring on the spot, made exclusively for that person" has been an ordinary sight since our founding in 1970.
'I want to hand it over in the best condition without making you wait'
This style began from the pure feelings of such craftsmen. We didn't think of it as something particularly special to boast loudly about.
However, the other day, a single comment from a customer greatly changed our perspective.
'When I went to a famous brand's store, they told me that if they had it in stock, they would hand it over on the spot, and if not, they would order it from another store. It was only then that I realized how luxurious and valuable it is to have something made for me alone, right here in front of me, at MITUBACI.'
For those who don't have much time or who want something in a fixed form right away, the system of ready-made inventory or special orders might be convenient and rational. However, when choosing a wedding ring or special anniversary jewelry to share for a lifetime, is 'efficiency' really what matters most?
This time, I would like to speak from a craftsman's perspective about the true value hidden within the experience of 'taking orders and making them on the spot,' which we took for granted.
Famous brands' 'inventory' versus MITUBACI's 'custom-made'
At most general jewelry brands and major maisons, 'inventory (ready-made items)' that have been mass-produced in factories in advance are displayed in stores. When a customer visits the store, likes the design, and the size fits, it is transferred from the showcase into a box and handed over the same day.
If the size is not available, it becomes a 'special order' from affiliated stores across the country, and it is not uncommon to wait several weeks for it to arrive.

Because we create from scratch on the spot, there is a major advantage unique to MITUBACI: a craftsman can determine the 'true perfect fit' tailored to the customer's finger on the spot.
The size of a human finger changes surprisingly subtly depending on the season, time of day, physical condition, or the width (thickness) of the ring.
At general stores, they measure using a predetermined size gauge (in increments of 1 size or 0.5 size), and either select the closest inventory or place an order for that size. However, when actually worn, it is not uncommon for customers to feel a sense of discomfort, such as 'it feels a bit tight somehow' or 'I'm worried it might be loose and I could lose it.'

While having such detailed discussions, the craftsman hammers the metal on the spot, making fine adjustments down to the millimeter, or sometimes to fractions of a millimeter. Rather than conforming your finger to the ready-made size, the ring's shape is conformed to your finger. This 'clinging fit' is a privilege that can only be delivered through the on-the-spot craftsmanship of a skilled artisan.
In-house technical capability that realizes compromise-free 'same-day delivery'
'Making it on the spot' might make you think you would have to wait for months until completion. However, all of MITUBACI's handmade workshops offer 'same-day delivery.'

A rich combination of metals and textures (surface finishes)

Laser engraving that carries meaning is also done on the same day
"Laser engraving" where you can engrave your partner's own signature, an illustration of your beloved dog, or the date of a special anniversary. Our craftsmen also operate the precision laser machine in the workshop on the spot, digitize the data, and perform the engraving.
